Present Perfect Tense

The Present Perfect Tense is used to show an action that has been recently finished or completed or the action that has been started in the past and continues in the present. To create the present perfect tense of any verb, you will combine the present tense of the verb “to have” plus the past participle of the main verb of the sentence.
Present Perfect Tense
Formula:
  • We use “has” with “He”, “She” & “It”.
  • We use “have” with “I”, “You”, “We”, “They”.

Active Voice

In Present Perfect Tense active voice Urdu sentences end with  (چکاہے، چکی ہے، چکاہوں، چکےہیں، ٹھاہوں، ٹھےہیں، داہے، لیاہے، کیاہے، گۓہيں وغیرہ)
Formula:
  • In Present Perfect Tense active voice we use “has” & “have” with the “3rd” form of verb.
For Example:
  • I have done my home work.        میں اپنے گھر کا کام کرچکاہوں
  • I have bought two cars.         میں نے دو کاریں خریدی ہیں
  • He has completed his master’s degree.    اکرم نے اپنے ماسٹر کی ڈگری مکمل کی ہے
  • They have made the movie.     انہوں نے فلم بنائی ہے
  • We have crossed the river.     ہم  دریا عبور کرچکےہیں
  • You have broken the rules.     تم قواعد توڑ چکے ہو
 
Negative Sentences
Formula:
  • In active voice negative sentences “not” is used after the “has”, “have” and before the verb.
For Example:
  • I have not told the truth.       میں نے سچ نہیں بتایا
  • He has not sold his old car.      اس نے اپنی پرانی کار فروخت نہیں کی ہے
  • You have not fulfilled your promise.      آپ نے اپنا وعدہ پورا نہیں کیاہے
Interrogative Sentences
Formula:
  • In active voice interrogative sentences “has” & “have” are used before the subject. The other question words like “why”, “what”, “where”, “how” etc are placed before “has”, have”.
For Example:
  • Has Haleema passed the interview?   کیا حلیمہ نے انٹرویو پاس کیا ہے /  کیا حلیمہ انٹرویو پاس کرچکی ہے
  • Has she got the first position in class?    کیا اسے کلاس میں پہلی پوزیشن ملی ہے
  • Have they appeared before the judge?     کیا وہ جج کے سامنے پیش ہوئے ہیں
  • Why she fell in love with Basit?           کیوں اسکو باسط سے پیار ہوا
  • How Raheela managed to win his heart?      کس طرح راحیلہ اس کا دل جیتنے میں کامیاب ری

Passive Voice

Formula:
  • In Present Perfect Tense passive voice “has been”, “have been” are used after the object with 3rd form of verb.
For Example:
  • The soldier has been sent to border twice.     سپاہی کو دو بار بارڈر پر بھیجا گیا ہے
  • It has been a long time since I left my city.    مجھے اپنے شہر کو چھوڑے بہت عرصہ ہوچکا ہے
  • They have been asked to reach the office.       انھیں آفس پہنچنے کو کہا گیا ہے
  • These areas have been included in our country.     ان علاقوں کو ہمارے ملک میں شامل کیا گیا ہے
  • I have been told to avoid lazy people.           مجھے سست لوگوں سے بچنے کے لئے کہا گیا ہے
Negative Sentences
Formula:
  • In passive voice negative sentences “not” is used between “has”, “have” & “been”.
For Example:
  • We have not been invited in the function.     ہمیں تقریب میں مدعو نہیں کیا گیا ہے
  • You have not been promoted to grade 18.    آپ کو گریڈ 18 میں ترقی نہیں دی گئی ہے
  • They have not been trained to win.         انہیں جیتنے کی تربیت نہیں دی گئی ہے
  • I have not been questioned for failure.       مجھ سے ناکامی پر پوچھ گچھ نہیں کی گئی ہے
Interrogative Sentences
Formula:
  • In passive voice interrogative sentences “has”, “have” are used before the object, “been” is used between the “object” & “verb”.
  • The other question words like “why”, “what”, “where”, “how” etc are placed before “has”, have”.
For Example:
  • Has Usman been told to keep the book?          کیا عثمان کو کتاب رکھنے کو کہا گیا ہے
  • Has the mirror been broken by throwing stones?     کیا پتھر پھینک کر آئینہ توڑدیاگیاہے
  • Have they been asked to reach the office?       کیا انھیں آفس پہنچنے کو کہا گیا ہے
  • Have these areas been included in our country?      کیا ان علاقوں کو ہمارے ملک میں شامل کیا گیا ہے
  • Have I been asked to avoid lazy people?    کیا مجھے سست لوگوں سے بچنے کے لئے کہا گیا ہے
  • Has he been asked to dance in the party?      کیا اسے پارٹی میں رقص کرنے کو کہا گیا ہے
  • Why have my guests been asked to work?    میرے مہمانوں سے کیوں کام کرنے کو کہا گیا ہے
  • How has he been told about the truth?          اسے سچائی کے بارے میں کیسے بتایا گیا ہے
  • Where have jewels been kept in the city?        شہر میں زیورات کہاں رکھے گئے ہیں
